What is the CNEH?
The National Hyperbaric Expert Centre (CNEH) is attached to Valabre and placed under the French Ministry of the Interior.
The CNEH is dedicated to work in hyperbaric environments, i.e. activities at pressure above atmospheric pressure. Some are in immersion, such as work and underwater interventions. Others are made without immersion, in hyperbaric chamber or in tunnel boring machine.
Article R.4461-28 of the French Labour Code divides these activities into four categories of the certificate of fitness for hyperbarism:
- Category A : underwater work;
- Category B : underwater interventions;
- Category C : interventions without immersion in the field of health;
- Category D : work without immersion.
This site brings together, for each category, the applicable regulations, the directory of referenced hyperbaric training centres and the news of the industry. It also allows reporting of an incident or accident in a hyperbaric environment, to power the lessons learned.
